I mean, it depends on the guide, right? If you're writing a product, you should narrow it down to the topics you feel you're qualified to write about. If what you're doing is compiling advice for your own group, then I think what I'd recommend is pointing them towards a few writers or YouTubers whose opinions you think aren't insane. Players aren't going to do research, but they might absorb entertainment related to the topic, if you're lucky.
Myself, I would like a guide on integrating PC stories into an adventure. I was discussing this last night in fact. I'm sure people like Matt Mercer have a process of some kind. It's possible, likely even, that the skills to do it aren't strongly related to the skills needed to explain how you do it. But with the sheer number of writers working in the scene, it seems inevitable that somebody must possess both skills. I just haven't found them. Granted, I also haven't actually searched.
