Looking for advice on building a wizard tower using Wall of Stone and Stone Shape in the party i have a dao genie warlock so he can do a lot in a day level 14 party. not to be our main keep or anything just a tower for the wizard
Thinking 20feet by 20 feet with 5 foot outer stone walls
i figure the base level without ceiling is 8 casting of wall of stone for the 5' thick 20' wall and then another 4 for the floor
planning on having like 3 or 4 levels
Any thoughts? Galders tower would take to long to be permanent
It should work. Keep in mind, you'll need to do something about a door. I guess you could stone shape it open and closed when you need (or dimension door, even), but that kind of screws the rest of the party if you die and no one else has the spell. So, someone with carpentry tools would be helpful. And since you'll likely want internal doors as well, even more need. Not to mention shutters (or glass or both) for the windows. I'd also use stone shape to, sort of, patch the seams between the 10-foot blocks, so it's a whole piece, and it would be sturdier.
And you'll also need another casting or two of each (wall and shape) to make some stairs or ramps between levels.
You might also want to use some mold earth to dig down a bit and give yourself a foundation of sorts.
Or just stone shape a door with hinges and a latch, which the spells specifically allows. Then you dont need the spell to open and close it, just to make it. A nice Arcane Lock would beef up the security more than a latch.

yeah i plan on digging 10 feet down then building from there and yes using stone shape to make the stairs and initially the door but eventually that will be sealed and have a second story landing with a door as must people in the party can fly in some way.
i figure 12 wall of stones for initial level than 12 each level above if you include stairs figure ceiling flooring probably 3 ft thick
Genie Dao warlock
Stone wall 3 times, short rest and repeat like 3 more times each day for a few days
Wizard
can stone shape like 6 times a day to connect the walls together and make it look more flush
Have you considered the stone to mud (and reverse) spells as well? Use fabricate to create a form. Then fill with rubble turn to mud and then turn back into smooth continuous stone in the shape you want with doorways, stairs, etc already in place.

If you want doors (or anything made of wood) and there are trees nearby you could use fabricate. It could also work for other none stone items.
Or just stone shape a door with hinges and a latch, which the spells specifically allows. Then you dont need the spell to open and close it, just to make it. A nice Arcane Lock would beef up the security more than a latch.
