Why wouldn’t disengaging to do this not be as good or better? Then you would have had both main action attacks for the big threat. Unless you needed the bonus action dash for the speed.

Because with Swashbuckler you can also do damage to the other threats on the way by
Consider also the first turn of combat, where you want to use your BA to rage -- you can still attack one or two opponents and slip past them, which you can't do if you rely on Disengage
The Swashbuckler/barb combo basically gives you maximum flexibility in combat

Also it's going to be a while regardless before I hit Barbarian 5, so multiattack is a long way off, and I'll be more trying not to get hit vs tanking hits at lower levels
I'd go to Barb 3 to snag Ancestral Guardian. The full up the Rogue levels from there for quite some time. Maaaaaaybe eventually snag 3 more Barb for the ranged reaction interference plus a little more rages a day. If that is ever an issue you faced while adventuring.
Here is why.
Ancestral Guardian lets you debuff the target, so that they have disadvantage attacking anyone but you. But with swashbuckler you can tag them and book it! Even bonus action dashing to really get outta their immediate vicinity. Stab and ruuuuùun style.
Now they got a shitty choice. Run after you. Or go for someone else. If they chase you you can repeat the process. Whoops to them! If they go after someone else they attack at disadvantage and deal half damage if it hits.
You've more than done your job protecting the party while doing it in a rogue's hit and run playstyle.

I'm probably laughing.
It is apparently so hard to program Aberrant Mind and Clockwork Soul spell-swapping into dndbeyond they had to remake the game without it rather than implement it.
