So, I'm making a character for an upcoming campaign, it's an artificer. What are the best infusions for Armorers? I'm currently 5th level. I've already taken Goggles of Night, (my character doesn't have Darkvision.) Bag of Holding, Enhanced Defense, and a Charlatan's Die. I don't know if any of these are good those are just what I took. I'm taking infiltrator armor btw. Any suggestions?
We’ll need much more information. First being, what kind of a campaign is it? More combat, social, etc? What’s the magic level? What’s the party composition? Sometimes the best infusions are the ones you hand out to party members, so do any of them need a little boost?
It's very combat-based. I don't entirely know what you mean by magic level. We are still trying to figure out what everyone will be, but I know there is a fathomless warlock, a fighter, and a bard. I did pivot race to a Gem Dragonborn for flight speed and Darkvision. so, I intend to use enhanced defense on myself to boost my current plate armor of gleaming, to 19 AC. I guess I mostly thought about myself during these infusions. So I don't know. Should I make a weapon for the fighter? There's that warlock focus too. So I'm not sure.
In general, you want to focus your infusions on yourself. You can choose to boost your teammates if you want to, but the infusions are part of your power and you have a limit to how many you can use at one time: at 5th level you know four infusions but can only have two active. Also, you can't use Enhanced Defense on Plate Armor of Gleaming since infusions can only be used on non-magical items. A Charlatan's Die is fairly worthless, especially in a combat-heavy campaign. I'd avoid it and go with Enhance Weapon instead. Are you going with Guardian or Infiltrator for your armor?

"Canon" is what's factual to D&D lore. "Cannon" is what you're going to be shot with if you keep getting the word wrong.
I'm using infiltrator. If I'm not using Charlatan's die. Should I maybe take a magic weapon? There are those moon-touched ones. Maybe a Rapier? Idk. Also. I'm 5th level rn.
By magic level I meant, basically, how common are magic items? For example, if you find a bag of holding, you don’t really need to make one. If there’s lots of magic weapons around, you can probably just find one in a treasure hoard and focus more on utility items. That kind of thing. Though you do always have the option to swap one on level up.
At low levels, you really don't have a use for your Bonus Action, so I would recommend taking the Homunculus Servant. That gets you a decent bit of damage on your BA, and it functions as a limited use Familiar (that doesn't cost anything when you resummon it).
At sixth level, the Repulsion Shield is a really fun one! (You should always be using a shield as an Armorer as there is literally no downside).

Using Replicate Magic Item to get a Common magic item is the single weakest use of an Artificer's Infusions possible. If you'd like a magic weapon, I recommend taking Enhance Weapon instead, which gives you a +1 weapon. Also, Armorers are not proficient with martial weapons by default so unless you have rapier proficiency from a feat or your race, it's not going to be helpful. Furthermore, if you're wearing Plate Armor, you won't be getting as much use from boosting your dexterity score- I'd recommend wearing Half Plate or a Breastplate instead, and picking up the Medium Armor Mastery feat.

I don't know what you mean by boosting my dex score. I haven't really prioritized Dex. I think just taking a shield would give me a 20 AC right? Wouldn't it just make sense to grab a shield and take 20 AC Then that frees up two infusions because I don't need a weapon as you said and I already have 20 AC so I don't need to take enhanced defense. Unless there is a reason to take medium armor. This would mean at the moment, I have a bag of holding, a Plate Armor of Gleaming, and a Homunculus Servant. I don't really know what else to take.
Oh also, should I take a feat for my Artificer, or an ASI? If I take a feat, which one? I've heard mobile and sharpshooter were good but I'm not sure.
You said you're going Infiltrator. Infiltrator Armorers are stealth specialists, while you can technically do that without bothering to boost your dexterity, you'd get more out of it with a higher Dex. And if you have a higher Dexterity score, you can use Medium armor instead of Heavy armor for protection.
As far as feat vs ASI, the choice really depends on your current ability scores. You want to get Intelligence up to 18 quickly.
Also, I want to clarify something: to use Replicate Magic Item, you need to have a nonmagical version of the item already. That means that you need a suit of Plate Armor in order to create Plate Armor of Gleaming, the infusion doesn't create the armor. So make sure you have enough starting money to buy the armor.

ohhhh, that makes sense. I have a 20 in Int currently. Rolled an 18 for one of my stats and boosted it with my racial ASI. I boosted it to a 20. I think I'll take medium armor.
Yeah, you definitely don't want to replicate a magic weapon then. Only Battle Smiths can attack using Int with any magic weapon. Armorers can attack with Int only with their built in weapons (Thunder Gauntlets/Lighting Launcher).
But you can put the Enhanced Weapon Infusion on to either one of these. And you can put Enhanced Armor onto a shield or suit of armor (which doubles up if you take Repulsion Shield at 6).

I don't think magic items are all that common. I think we might get a couple in the later stages.
Ok. Got it
