A friend showed me the old Puffin Forest video of Abserd, the level 20 multiclass that has at least one level from every class for no other reason than the lols.
Got bored at work and made it a personal challenge to make an Abserd style character that actually works and would be playable.
The best I have with 2014 rules is 3 levels swashbuckler, 4 levels champion, 5 levels bear totem, 1 level hexblade, 2 levels paladin and the 5 levels of sorcerer (probably dragon or Aberant mind)
Any suggestions to make this work or other ridiculous ideas that are also viable?
Both setups you propose break because of the barbarian. You can't cast spells or concentrate when raging so you have to choose between casting and raging. Since you picked bear totem I'm guessing it's for the resistance but that's only while raging. Also if you are trying to use an ability score other than strength for your attacks you don't get the rage bonus damage. Really strong anti-psynergy.
If you want either setup to work you'll likely need to drop the barbarian. The intelligence build has potential to be okay if you go 6 levels bladesinger.
I was doing totem Barb for damage resistances and the second attack with a d12 hit die. I was less worried about the rage damage.
And as to the spell casting, I was hoping for using bladesong or smite while raging. 2014 it’s an ability, not a spell
Thought if I used a finesse weapon it would let me use rage and sneak attack regardless of the modifier. Fact checking that assumption is the reason I made this post.
Ya you're good for sneak attack with a finesse weapon. But any spell casting or concentration fails while raging and the resistance is only up while raging.
Well, i admit, taking out the barbarian and fighter from the build did make a more viable character but it does kinda defeat the point of this meme challenge
what is the most ridiculous multi class that’s actually useable?
what’s the closest I can get to “a little of everything” style multiclass that would actually kinda work in a ridiculous oneshot?
You could it's just anti-psynergy. You're locking off some of your features. The main thing is that the barbarian abilities don't work with the others and your limiting your character progression significantly by multiclassing so much. Rage only adds damage to strength based attacks, and reckless attack only works with strength based attacks. Sure you could play these characters but they're significantly worse than a straight class character or optimized multiclass character.
Your charisma build is mechanically worse than a paladin at level 13. The paladin has the same spell slots as your level 20 character and does more damage with two non smite hits than yours with 2 non smite hits. It has an aura that lets it succeed on saves and has a significantly higher AC which makes it roughly a wash for tanking with the resistances of your build.
The intelligence build also falls behind. In terms of damage a lvl 6 bladesinger would do slightly less damage with the attack action and would do more damage than your build at level 11 because of cantrip scaling. A level 11 bladesinger would also have 4 levels of spell slots progression more than your intelligence build and have access to 6th level spells which means tensers transformation or Tasha's otherworldly guise are available to do even more. If not that you can cast powerful control spells to minimize damage to your party and yourself. Plus with absorb elements and shield you can avoid taking a lot of damage.
The build you referenced at first did decent cantrip damage and was a skill monkey for their party. Neither of these builds fill their role well and even the ridiculous build was only okay at it's role.
DEXTERITY (the Rapid Striker): Rogue (Swashbuckler - 9) + Monk (Open Hand - 5) + Ranger (Gloomstalker - 3) + Fighter (Battlemaster - 3) Gimmick: Action: Attack 2x +1 (Gloomstalker), Action Surge: Attack 2x +1 Gloomstalker + BA: Attack 2x (Monk) - where you can combine all sorts of crowd control from Open Hand and Battlemaster at the same time.
STRENGTH (the Heavy Hitter): Barbarian (Zealot-5) + Fighter (Champion-3) + Paladin (any-6) + Bard (Swords-6). Gimmick: Greatsword + Zealot barb bonus damage + Rage damage + Reckless Attack + Expanded Critical Range + Smite from Paladin + Blade Flourishes.

Oh! Or the intelligence build
2014 rules is 3 levels arcane trickster, 4 levels champion, 5 levels bear totem, 4 levels battle smith and 4 levels bladesinger

Couldnt I just keep the magic to outside combat or long range before rage?
and spells like mirror image would work without concentration before rage

Pretty much any SAD build can work.
DEXTERITY (the Rapid Striker): Rogue (Swashbuckler - 9) + Monk (Open Hand - 5) + Ranger (Gloomstalker - 3) + Fighter (Battlemaster - 3)
Gimmick: Action: Attack 2x +1 (Gloomstalker), Action Surge: Attack 2x +1 Gloomstalker + BA: Attack 2x (Monk) - where you can combine all sorts of crowd control from Open Hand and Battlemaster at the same time.
STRENGTH (the Heavy Hitter): Barbarian (Zealot-5) + Fighter (Champion-3) + Paladin (any-6) + Bard (Swords-6).
Gimmick: Greatsword + Zealot barb bonus damage + Rage damage + Reckless Attack + Expanded Critical Range + Smite from Paladin + Blade Flourishes.
CONSTITUTION (the meat shield): Barbarian (Totem-11) + Fighter (Echo Knight-3) + Dhampir (species) + Druid (Moon-6)
WISDOM (the healer): Monk (Mercy-6) + Cleric (Life-2) + Druid (Shepherd-12)
INTELLIGENCE (the Spellblade): Articifer (Battlesmith - 3) + Wizard (Bladesinger-6) + Fighter (Eldritch Knight - 7) + Rogue (Arcane Trickster - 4)
CHARISMA (the Divineblade) : Warlock (Hexblade - 3) + Sorcerer (Divine Soul - 5) + Bard (Swords - 6) + Rogue (Swashbuckler - 6)
Perfect! The strength and charisma builds are exactly what I was looking for
Devotion Paladin 4, Celestial Warlock 6, Valor Bard 6, Champion Fighter 4
Paladin: Heavy armor, sacred weapon, divine favor, divine smite, weapon mastery
Warlock: Radiant soul, agonizing blast (true strike), pact of the blade, eldritch smite, hex (and possibly pact of the chain)
Bard: Extra attack, spell slots
Fighter: Action surge, improved critical
Order: p1, w2, b6, w6, p3, f4, p4 - 2 epic boons
Good example with 2024 rules
