I just took my first level in warlock with archfey and 8 levels in Oath Of Vengeance Paladin. I'm thinking to take 2 more levels to get the darkness + devil's sight combo with powering up eldritch blast, but how viable are these two classes in reality? (Also a plot/character reason for it which I"m more than invested in)
I’m not sure how to really make Vengeance “click”, it’s a weird subclass. With your channel divinity, you can take one opponent out of a fight for a whole minute, as long as everyone ignores it (and as long as the DM doesn’t cheat by having the enemy or it’s ally slap itself for 1 damage to snap out of it...). Or... go absolutely ape on one enemy, having advantage against it for a whole minute??? Those are... not really thematically or mechanically related, weird. And then at 7 it becomes about Opportunity Attacks all of a sudden? None of its features synergizes with each other, though the Advantage channel at least is very very good for a crit fishing Paladin...
... But if you’re doing Warlock Devil Sight shenanigans for advantage, that channel is less important? Among low-level warlock features, I like Archfey’s a lot, because there aren’t THAT many AOE fear (and even fewer AOE charm) effects in the game.
I think Conquest Paladin would have more synergy with the warlock fear effect, and I think it’s level 7 is more coherent and useful than Vengeance’s. It doesn’t have the amazing Advantage channel... but your warlock shenanigans have that covered.

Paladin Warlock (or Padlock) complement each other fine. You are more reliant on Charisma than a straight Paladin but it’s not really an issue. I also think that devils sight + darkness for advantage on attacks and Vow of Enmity for advantage is kind of a hat on a hat. Plus darkness eats your concentration for things like Haste or Hunters Mark or smite spells. It’s not bad but you could free up an invocation if you had another you liked. Something to think on. Tomb of Levistus, Beast Speech, Repelling Blast and Mask of Many Faces are all fun options.
Plot reason is easy. Archfey are creatures of passion and impulse. Like an Ego without an ID to ground it. They are quick to laugh and also quick to take extreme umbrage. Living in an eternal present but also harbouring grudges for thousands of years. Grudges that demand proper vengeance. Fey goals and plans always have an emotional or aesthetic aspect to them. Something that might make no logical sense, but that would make perfect sense in a dream or to a child’s imagination. Their logic is like “dream-logic,” “child-logic” or “did too much drugs - logic”. Their mood can change on a dime depending on the last thing or even the last word said to them. It’s not unusual for an archfey to have an agent to enact their vengeance for any umbrage taken. And the more wildly circuitous and elaborate the plan the better. And fey court rules may prevent that archfey from any direct involvement but don’t apply to their chosen agent.
Think of a reason your archfey wants vengeance. Literally anything - someone could have stepped on the wrong flower 900 years ago and they want vengeance for it. Archfey has been watching your vengeance Paladin doing their thing for 8 levels and thinks they are up to the job. Archfey offers deal and character gains access to warlock powers and ancient knowledge they can use for their own vengeance Paladin stuff. Like maybe the archfey knows the weakness of the paladins arch enemy and will share it with them if they become the archfey’s warlock.

Maybe Oberon could be your divine deity, while Titania is your patron. They are a couple, so it is not to far fetched that they bestow gifts to the same mortal. Also the fay nature of both of them leaves enough room for your DM to milk it for playful conflict if she wishes to.

Just my two cents.

I'm going to make this way harder than it needs to be.
Thank you :)
