If you were the one casting the spell, and you had the curse of exposure, Amplified it to reduce the immunity to the triggering damage to resistance level, and had the elemental adept feat, which ignores resistance, then yes, you could, effectively, do fire damage to a fire elemental. Is it worth all those resources? Maybe? I don't know, I haven't played a blood hunter, but I would say probably not? Neat trick, though.
By way of semi-official means (the blood hunter isn't exactly an official class, but as far as I know, it's widely accepted)? I'm also inclined to think it's the only way. There are other ways AROUND immunity (Order of scribe wizards just changing the damage type of a spell, things like that), but if you're trying to play, say, a pyromancer and bypass some creatures immunity, it's pretty much impossible. Strange how fire elementals will never be damaged by fire, huh? Is it a worthwhile endeavor? Via in game rules, I wouldn't say so... Buuuut, doesn't mean you can't have it be a character's goal in adventuring. Could be a motive, to find a way to bypass a certain creatures immunity to some kind of damage. Maybe their village was burned or destroyed or something by some evil dude, and they were told that Mr. McEvil would not die unless damaged by the very thing he's immune to. Cliché as it might be, it tells your DM "Hey, this is something I would like to achieve for my character, and have reasonable backstory for trying to find it/finding it." That is, if your DM isn't trying to tell his own story, and isn't really up for something like that.
Seriously, talk with your DM. If you ARE the DM, MAKE a way. The rules are a suggestion, but the game is about having fun for everyone at the table. Bend the rules a little, or break them entirely! House-rule that damage resistance and immunity is a two step deal, and reducing resistance to normal would reduce immunity to resistance.
But, if you're looking for RAW, by the book, 100% foolproof ways to bypass damage immunity? I think the blood hunter deal is the only way.

Can you combine the Blood Hunter's amplified Curse of Exposure with the Elemental Adept feat to reduce an elemental immunity to base elemental damage?

Its the only way that I can think of to get past an elemental immunity. Do you have any other suggestions?
