The unified spell list was never an issue to me. If anything I always felt Sorcs should have access to all spells (arcane, divine, and primal) but only have a select handful of them at any one time. Note: I am not opposed to letting Sorcs switch out their entire set of spells at level up just not daily.
I'm all for unified spell lists as an idea in itself, though I kinda lament some warlock exclusivity. This far, the way it works for bards and rangers is fairly good IMO. Thing is, prepared spellcasting was a thing for clerics and druids, making them pretty powerful and flexible; arcane casters, however, were always limited in some way. Sorcerers, bards, and warlocks had only known spells, while wizard had to find scrolls and pay money to copy them. Artificer had a very limited spell list.
So in 1DnD, it's likely that warlocks, sorcerers, and wizards will have some kind of limitation to prevent them from simply accessing the entire arcane spell list, which is the biggest and most versatile, as prepared spellcasters. I presume wizards will still have to hunt for scrolls. Bards have limitations in schools of magic. Warlocks and sorcerers will either have only known spells, or something else. Frankly, I wouldn't be surprised if sorcerers will have school limitation as well.
These ideas are probably how they will do it. Restrictions on spell schools and physical access to the scrolls, etc. While it will work fine probably, it really does mean we still need class specific lists in the book to not make picking spells a chore.
I put this in another thread, but since this is on the topic. My prediction for warlock at the least will be. Pact magic will change to casting a number of spells equal to your PB per short rest. I predict that you will have access to the whole arcane list except evocation (same as ranger for primal) and you will be able to prepare a number of spells equal to your PB. Then you will automatically have your patron spells prepared just like with cleric. So basically warlocks will almost entirely lose their spell choice except for a very small select few choices. Even with access to the whole list if you can only ever prepare 3 spells in mid tiers topping at 4 at level 9 you are going to be pretty limited.
(edit: Maybe wizards of the coast will be nice and let the patron spells be traded out for specific schools like enchantment and illusion for archfey, evocation and abjuration for fiend, and enchantment and Conjuration for GOO).

Why exclude Evocation (especially considering hellish rebuke is still evocation in the playtest)?
Also GOO is more suited for Divination and Enchantment, since sending (which is now divination), detect thoughts, telepathic bond, and so on are more fitting than many conjuration spells.
I missed hellish rebuke, but originally because if you look at the warlock list originally evocation was the most limited spell type on their list for the most part.
I feel like they can't say no enchantment, or illusion, or definitely can't say no necromancy, abjuration has armor of agathys, counter spell and dispel magic, Transmutation feels like something you can't say no to either because turning someone into a toad seems like something a warlock should be able to do, divination (talking to your paetron), and finally conjuration (summon spells are a massive part of a warlock's arsenal).
