So got around to looking at it in depth, and checked out the armorer’s dreadnaught model. Sounds really cool and I liked the idea of getting bigger and having cool moments of battling larger things and fighting them at their height. Would make for some neat cinematic moments I imagine. But, unless I’m missing something, the giant stature, and getting bigger doesn’t actually do anything other than make you a bigger target and increase reach? I mean, that might be the point so you could be a better tank, but wouldn’t the guardian model be better since one of its special abilities imposes disadvantage on enemies who attack people OTHER then you?
I’m no DM and it’s been years since I’ve last played DND, but shouldn’t there be a little more to the dreadnaught’s main gimmick other than just making you larger? It feels kinda cosmetic. I almost want to say maybe damage with its built in flail should do an extra 1d4 and maybe even 1d6 at higher levels. A bit like the old fighter rune knight. I mean it’s a limited ability so it should feel like a barbarian’s rage and should function like a player’s “Time to get serious” anime moment lol
Am I alone in this thought? Or is the artificer’s armored powerful enough and I’m just not seeing it?

Im of the believe they should mix the armor modes and turn them into optional modules u pick and build your own armor to your liking.
