The idea of having a patron like the noble genie is a great idea. It adds new playa ability and Roleplaying opportunities for the warlock. I can just imagine a treasure hunter type character who has come across this patron and is now bound to you.
However the abilities are so-so. The tether screams elemental by even saying smoke, mist, or sand to tether the willing creature with you. But the spell list does not contain a single elemental ability that makes you feel bound to a fire genie or ect.
This is a missed opportunity on adding elemental based spells and focus to the warlock class.
I pretty much agree with you. I want to like it, interesting idea. Poor execution.

Any time an unfathomably powerful entity sweeps in and offers godlike rewards in return for just a few teensy favors, it’s a scam. Unless it’s me. I’d never lie to you, reader dearest.
