I've created a campaign, and also some characters to act as NPCs in the campaign.
I created these NPCs just using the regular character builder instead of the "create unassigned character" on the campaign's main page. I can't figure out how to bring these characters into my campaign as NPCs so that they will be available in the encounters beta for running encounters.
Can I bring in my own existing characters to act as NPCs or will I need to completely re-create unassigned versions of all my NPCs from the main campaign page?
Another question: If I set those NPC characters to "PRIVATE" will the rest of the human players be able to see them on the screen when they join the campaign main page?
You're welcome to add me to the campaign to test it. If I recall correctly, the players will see the character summary, but won't be able to view the character sheet itself.
One more, since I'm testing this campaign now: Why won't the assigned characters for the campaign show up in that campaign's Encounters when I run them?

They should. When you look at the encounter setup (click on Edit after selecting your saved encounter you want to run) you have a Manage Characters button - what does it say when you ckick on that? It should show the characters from the preset campaign (which you can change if need be), and if it doesn't show any you should be able to add them.

Thanks, It was the "manage characters" that I needed to change. I still need to enter their HP manually, which sucks, but at least the characters are on there and I can track the rounds. BTW, do you know why the UNDO button doesn't work? LOL

It’s still in beta, so not finished.

Hello,

Copy/paste the "Send players this invite link to have them join your campaign" link into your browser.
Thanks for that.
Another question: If I set those NPC characters to "PRIVATE" will the rest of the human players be able to see them on the screen when they join the campaign main page?

Hmm, OK.

Unfortunately, we've reached the end of my knowledge in this topic, so hopefully someone else can jump in to pick up the torch.
Thanks for the help thus far @memnosyne
