Let's rephrase/redirect the question, since the announcement turned out to news/confusing/surprising to some Big Bad Cons Discord moderators and community. And given the number of events and likely community interest in said events, this topic isn't really about just Big Bad Con.
A lot of game publishers, particularly the established and better resourced ones, don't rely on a convention's volunteer pool for the publisher's event. Instead they develop their own demo team, so that all the publisher asks for from the con is space (an arrangement that often includes some offer to pay for overhead for the particular space or a general sponsorship of the convention, etc.). If I just announced a tour, and using the Gary Con and Pax East followups on this site as indicators of what those convention appearances look like, I imagine someone in the D&D community management space may be tasked with wrangling DMs over the course of the tour. I know some publishers already have their GMs locked in for GenCon, so it may be moot. I'm wondering if Michael, author of the 50th anniversary article, or Chris, author of the specific con articles who I think is also involved in 'D&D event coordination', may be inclined to clarify whether WotC are or already have put together DM teams for these events, or will be leaning on the Cons volunteer pools, be it Big Bad Con or any of the Cons over the rest of the year..

I've seen that the Descent into the Lost Caverns of Tsojcanth is coming to my local gaming convention, Big Bad Con in Burlingame CA this year.
I'd love to be a DM for that event at Big Bad Con! Who do I contact to volunteer?

This link describes a sort of D&D 50th Anniversary tour with panels and meet and greets and runs of Lost Caverns: https://www.dndbeyond.com/posts/1660-dungeons-dragons-turns-50-see-how-were-celebrating#2024-dnd-events-conventions
