I imagine you will be, it says DDB will be the place for ALL D&D digital stuff, and I imagine there would be a real stink if they decided to basically cancel your PHB etc. That's speculation, though.
If you're not willing or able to to discuss in good faith, then don't be surprised if I don't respond, there are better things in life for me to do than humour you. This signature is that response.
idk if it is/was intentional, but when the update came out you couldnt use volos guide in the encounter builder anymore. It may also be fixed now as i bought monsters of the multiverse so i cant test it. WOTC also has yanked their digital copies twice that i know of from drivethrurpg. Which if you wanted to redownload what you paid them for tough. So im a little more in the camp where i expect forced upgrades.
Still hoping that there are no plans of getting rid of the old content.
Call it legacy or 5e - It would be crappy if from one day to the other, your charactergenerator for 5e wouldn´t work anymore or you would be forced to use the new stuff.
As I have said in other threads. I can definitely understanding launching a new edition (essentially a new game) which would have backwards compatibility. But this is the big opportunity for WoTC to make the subscription portion of the website a valuable asset. Force a player to buy the initial content for whichever game they prefer. But change a monthly fee to cross editions or just access different editions. This will be a great revenue generator while keeping fans interested with only needing a 1 time large investment.
So far they give me fluff content which is nice on the basic subscription and the full subscription is super valuable for groups, but to add more value give the forward/backwards compatibility for a charge along with occasional discounts on new modules. This could really be a large money maker if managed properly.

I don´t know if there was any word on this.
Will it still be possible to make 5e Characters on DnDBeyond when the new edition hits?
Is there an official statement?

It's going to be backwards compatible so it won't be radically different. What specifically about 5e characters do you mean?
I mean the character generator - if you one could still use it the "old" way.
So that you can still make 5e chars, if you don´t wanna use 6e.
