As the title says, I'm working with the new subclass feature and so far have yet to come up with a way for a subclass feature to replace or override the parent class feature. Is this possible and if not could it be something added in a later update?
This is not currently possible, I suspect mostly due to the fact that WotC itself does not really allow that at the moment.
If I am not wrong, in yesterday's livestream BadEye said WotC is considering creating an alternative features system for main class features, in order for example to allow a choice for the Ranger at certain levels between two or more features, in order to cover for alternative version of classes without having to release a full alternative version of it that could possibly create confusion and other compatibility issues.
Should WotC indeed go down that road, that is something that DDB will follow and allow in here as well in terms of the subclass system possibilities.
Aside from this, not much more info is available at the moment.
It probably isn't something that's going to be added any time soon either - allowing homebrew creators to override core class features would effectively be the same as allowing full homebrew classes.
That's true! ... Is that an easy way to allow that? I know, I know, nothing's ever easy... but it would make things like making sidekick classes possible, etc etc. ...... .. ? Maybe?

Born in Italy, moved a bunch, living in Spain, my heart always belonged to Roleplaying Games
Pretty much exactly what LeK said. :)

Alright, I figured it probably wasn't an option yet, that's what I was trying to achieve. Well thanks both.
