I've never used D&D beyond, as a player or as a DM. We're starting a campaign in a homebrew world, and nothing is the same in my campaign as the "standard" stuff- racial bonuses are different, certain feats and spells have been modified in terms of how they operate, and more than 1 character is playing a custom race (3 of 4 are actually) while at least 1 is playing a modified class (like a reskinned, arcane paladin).
I don't know how much D&D beyond supports modifying existing content or adding entirely custom races or classes or spells, in order to be able to still use it. Does it support that at all, and if so, how easy or difficult is it to make those changes or upload that custom content?
Awesome! That would be perfect! I can just heavily modify some of the races that aren't in there to create the races that are, and it's not like the modified class guy is having a whole new class, we're just tweaking one or more of the classes to be able to more readily fit his character.
Last question, I have physical copies of the books, do I or my players need to buy a digital copy of the books through D&D beyond in order to have the content from those books (the races, subclasses, etc) available for use with the app?
Greetings!

The only thing that DDB does not support at this moment is custom classes.
However, races, feats, backgrounds, subclasses are all customizable.
Moreover, spells, magic items and monsters are also customizable.

Yes, you need to buy the official material from the Marketplace, if you want to use it.
Either that or you could homebrew the official material for private use.
Thanks very much for your replies, they are much appreciated!
