Hello all, I’m a high schooler who runs a dnd club at my school im trying to digitize things for the club so that once im gone new players can continue to join and thrive without the pains of having to learn everything manually. I am planning on doing this by buying the books on a school run account specifically for dnd club and then crowdfunding for a master tier subscription from my club members. But what im afraid of is since dnd beyond has a no account sharing policy does me passing down an account to one of my peers count as account sharing. Also all of the members would be using their own accounts not the school account to create characters. Thanks for any insight I can get!
This is a fairly specific question, my guess is you'd be best off directing it to the official support to get guidance on if and how it might be possible rather than just posting it here in the forums.
Choose school club when asked about the type of organization.
You'll likely need a staff member to sign off on it though and an account will have to be created. I don't know if who the original owner of the account is matters.
To receive an Educator License, you must have a D&D Beyond account and must be a representative of an organization such as a school, library, or enrichment center. The Educator License is available wherever D&D Beyond is accessible.
I’m also wondering how content sharing works when it comes to the encounter creator so any insight on that would be awesome
I don't know if there are special rules for this regarding the educators license but in general:
A master tier subscription allows you to share your content across 5 campaigns. Each campaign can have I believe 12 players+DM, each player can have up to 99 characters in that campaign or a really high number at least. Note: they'll be limited to 6 on their own free accounts. You could unassign them in the campaign and have them saved on the subbed account though - this does take some transferring back and forth when they are needed for play again.
Sharing content gives them access to all the character options you have when building the character in that campaign. They'll also be able to read the books and have access to the monsters, magic items etc. This also applies to the encounter builder iirc and anything you share should be available to them.
The one thing I've run into that can be annoying is homebrewing using an existing monster/item/spell etc as a template. Here they will only have access to things they own on their account.

You get some books at no cost on dndbeyond. I'm unsure if they also allow you to share your content for free, you'd definitely be able to share to other accounts with a master sub as normal though. You'd have to double check with customer support probably unless another person who's gotten the license stops in and can tell us.

They used to have a special program for school clubs, that might still exist.

What should I file the report under? Because I haven’t made the account yet and the dnd beyond help with accounts asks for your username.

Can I share books with the educator license?
