Heya! I'm wanting to run an entirely random game. Everything from character creation to encounters to monsters will be totally random. Before I spend my time creating my own random charts, do any exist already?
hard for me to say if something has been done, but most likely yes. But the important questions should be: Is it fun?
At some point you are going to need some structure, I have a game that is heavily influenced by randomness, but only in the world building aspects.
Running something completely random can cause at some point a TPK and will most definitely break immersion, unless they're all exploring a plane that well...does that.
Xanathar includes a lot of tables for random encounters which I love, they are structured considering the level of the characters and the location.
