A simple question I am struggling with, but the old Periapt of wound closure states
"While you wear this pendant, you stabilize whenever you are dying at the start of your turn. In addition, whenever you roll a Hit Die to regain hit points, double the number of hit points it restores."
So when it comes to healing health is doubled in short rests as it states Hit Die to regain hit points, easy enough, so with durable and all using any hit die is Doubled. Then the new rules arrived. Specifically this part of the 2024 Periapt.
"While wearing this pendant, you gain the following benefits Whenever you roll a Hit Point Die to regain Hit Points, double the number of Hit Points it restores."
It says whenever you roll hit point die to REGAIN HIT POINTS, Now is this doubling sources of healing from any roll that gives healing, or is it still specifically for just hit dice still. What I notice is that it requires a roll still so say I cast heal, I would gain a flat 70 healing but I do not roll therefore I do not gain double the amount of healing from it. But if I cast Cure wounds I would gain 2d8+5 x 2 of healing if I was the person wearing the pendant.
Does having the periapt of wound closure and attuning to it cause ANY roll that heals you double it's effectiveness?

"Whenever you roll a Hit Point Die to regain Hit Points, double the number of Hit Points it restores."
For comparison:
"whenever you roll a Hit Die to regain hit points, double the number of hit points it restores."
edit: If your confusion comes from it saying hit point die rather than hit die, the rules glossary says, "Hit Point Dice, or Hit Dice for short..."
Ah then I should of just read more on the new phb. Thank you!! I think I understand now.
