The Astral Elf's ability Astral Trance: "Whenever you finish this trance, you gain proficiency in one skill of your choice and with one weapon or tool of your choice, selected from the Player’s Handbook.", states you can change these proficiencies per long rest. Does anybody have an idea how to make the proficiencies changeable without going into the edit character menu? My workaround for now is using a feat, (seeing as items don't allow a choosable skill either), and leaving the actual choices empty. But I was wondering if there was an easier way to achieve the same effect :)
If you click on a skill in your character sheet, there is a way to overwrite the proficiency for that skill—this allows you to add or remove proficiencies on the fly.
Completely forgot about that. It's even in a different color for easy remembering🤩! Tools are niche enough to (hopefully) remember before I plan on using one.
Thanks a lot!
