As a DM, my answer is to go to your current DM and ask if they're ok adding this into the current campaign/game. If so, they will either be ok importing that in as-is or they may make slight modifications.
Either way this is a DM's call (in my opinion) and you would have to accept their ruling.
There is no official way to do this - nor do I expect there ever will be. Wizards was very clear that 2014 content will work when used with a 2024 class, but there will be no support for using 2024 content with a 2014 class.
That said, mechanically there is nothing stopping you from making Path of the World Tree work with 2014 - provided you are willing to put the work into unsung the homebrew system. You should be able to look at the new rules and build a 2014 Barbarian subclass reflecting those rules, which should be compatible with the 2014 Barbarian.

Yep. As a DM I really don't want to do that work, so if a player wants to go ahead write it all up and ask me for a stamp of approval, that's the best way to convince me to allow it.
Coming to me and asking me to write it all up myself is acceptable, but since I'm doing all the work you're going to accept my modifications. So... Ya know, write it up and we'll talk. :)
Is there anyway to make the 2024 player content -such as subclasses/archetypes- available for backwards compatibility with the 2014 player content?
Is this something that's already been addressed or answered and I missed it?
Point in case, I'd really like to be able to use the Path Of The World Tree in a campaign I'm currently part of, but we're still using the 2014 rules.
Thanks in advance!
Do you mean you want to use the world tree subclass with the '14 base class? Because that won't really work. But if you want to play the 24 base barbarian with the world tree, sitting next to a bunch of '14 characters, that should work in theory. Of course, you should ask your DM. Also, there may be some jealousy when you get to use weapon masteries, and channel your rage into non-combat situations, etc. so I'd talk to the other players, too. But just game mechanics-wise, it should be fine. There might be some hiccups, but since you won't be casting spells and have to worry about those changes, I think they'd be pretty limited.

Yes, that one would be easy honestly, the hard ones are Warlock, Sorcerer, and Cleric, as the level three gains are at level one. There are other things such as subclass capstones come online much sooner in 2024 than 2014. but the abilities themselves are easily transferable. Only you wont have weapon masteries, and if you have a subclass feature that relies on the weapon masteries then add the weapon mastery into level 1 as a class skill. Other then that, easy. It's homebrew so the balance will be off a bit, but it'll work.
You're 100% correct, but if it isn't mechanically possible, then there's no point even asking... 😅😅😅
It is mechanically possible. Just need to recreate using homebrew tools and select the 2014 version of the class when choosing what class you're making this subclass for. And it does need to be fully recreated, you can't just click to copy it.

I figured as much. Definitely not something I wanna try to do on a cellphone. Lol
I can highlight, copy, and paste things significantly easier on a computer. I just might do that sometime this week on a lunch break or something. Thanks!!

The fact that I now own all the digital versions of these books tells me I have too much time on my hands...

The curse of the Forever GM. 😅😅😅
I know it all too well, unfortunately. Lol
I love making my players think and do their own footwork. It helps them feel more attuned to their own characters and more likely to get into their own toon's head more for roleplay purposes.
