As someone who's been playing D&D since 2015 and using D&D Beyond since 2018, I am actually considering alternative places for my time and energy.
I've spent over $600 here because this place has been a great place digital content, even as I also choose to go out and buy physical copies as well. It's just nice to have both. But lets rewind to the huge push from the site for people to pre-order the 2024 Player's Handbook. A great idea and concept, especially since I once again knew I'd be wanting to get the physical and digital copies. Why not order them both here? I purchased the bundle, got my access to the digital copy and waited patiently for when the physical copies would ship.
My friends, fellow players and DMs all were celebrating getting their copies. I thought mine was just a bit delayed. So I waited patiently. Weeks went by and nothing. Even now, as we are well over a month since the release and I still do not have my copy. In fact, it hasn't even shipped. What is the point of pre-ordering if it is not going to be processed and shipped in a reasonable amount of time? I'd understand delays if its stock difficulties or something. But I've gotten no information or notice and Support has been silent on my ticket.
Here I am, now wanting to look into acquiring the 2024 Dungeon Master's Guide but with my disappointing service with this last order and the lackluster support, I don't think I can use D&D Beyond for it anymore and its just saddening since this place used to give me zero concerns or qualms. Any recommendations?
The option has been available to order physical books from WotC for a while and I have never seen this be a satisfying process. Honestly, I don't know why anyone would order through them with the fulfillment history they have. I admit I almost did, but I opted to go through my LGS instead for alternate covers. It is better to support local game stores whenever you can anyway.
You can, potentially at least, get them cheaper buying digital and physical separately via an LGS and DDB rather than WotC.
Still, kick up a stink about it. I've seen stories about tickets being "resolved" without even contacting the customer about the issue. I can't do anything because I went digital only (although that has its own issues!), but I'd encourage you to make noise about it on here, on X and other social media. Be honest and sincere about what you say, but make it known. It's a shame, but it feels like WotC isn't that bothered unless people raise a stink about things.
I know it's a busy time for them, but they knew there'd be issues so they should have hired extra staff (either temporary or permanent according to their needs) to help deal with this. They absolutely should have been in touch with you by now - they're supposed to be shipping the next installment of the CRB as we speak, the PHB should be long done and dusted.
So yeah, make noise. When you put it on X, tag Crawford. Always be honest and civil, but make it known. That's the only way I can think of that might actually get them to do something.

Im in the same situation. I prordered the bundle and they hid the option to ship each book individually behind my prefilled shipping info. Ill have to wait untill next year when the Monster Manual releases to get all 3 new books.
