Homebrew items are excellent for this purpose. Simply make a Common 'magic' item and give it the spell name. Set it up to boost the character's AC (or whatever) and save. Then just add the item to your character. With Mage Armor, for example, just click the box to 'equip' it and it should adjust your AC appropriately. Click it off when the spell wears off.
It is nice that dnd beyond calculates the armor class.
I have an at will Mage Armor that of course I will cast all the time.
Is there anyway to cast it inside dndbeyond so you know what your new armor class is?
Or is that handled by the Map tool or Roll 20 or whatever.
Or is the expectation is that you would always have to do the math yourself?

You have a couple options: Creating a homebrew item to sub in as mage armor, and you can just use the inventory putting it on or taking it off to get the armor stat change. Probably the more versatile option.
You can also click on the armor stat in the creator so the sidebar comes up, select customize and use the override there. You won't have the toggle option and have to manually change this when you have or don't have mage armor on.
I think those are the only digital options atm.

They don't have much official support for temporary changes to AC or the like.
A lot of people make a homebrew item that sets their AC appropriately. IIRC there are instructions in the FAQs in the homebrewing forum.
