Where do we find more information about these items?
Is the last one just "inserting AI chatbots"?
Does the Campaign Console mean we can prep encounters outside the map, properly, or are they shoehorning even more features in just because "VTT's are cool".
There's always been a roadmap on the maps landing page, it's just varied in terms of how up-to-date it is.
Where you find information on these items would be the roadmap for now, then release notes when they launch.
The Rules Assistant could be anything from an embedded search within the rules to an LLM trained on rules data. We'll have to wait and see.
I'm not sure what you mean by "just because "VTT's are cool"", VTTs have been an important tool not just for D&D but TTRPGs in general for years (verging on decades now). But I suspect it will let you do what you can do from My Campaigns but directly within Maps.

I mean trying to wedge every single piece of functionality into the Maps tool, like Encounter Building (as opposed to Encounter Running). A Campaign Console tool sounds great. A "Campaign Console" inside the Maps seems like it's in the wrong place. Requring you to open up the Map, to do a dozen things that don't require the map, makes the map more cluttered and less focused on being a Map.
I agree, logically Maps should be a feature of a Campaign Console, alongside things like the Encounter Builder and character sheets. Having the Campaign Console inside maps seems completely backwards.
100%. I've been a Master Tier subscriber for over 7 years, and have no plan (or need) to ever use maps. The fact that the Encounter Builder is still in Beta, it hasn't been updated for 2024 rules, nor is there any plan to do so really sucks. :(
