In the description it does not say light as a property but is there an argument to be made for it to be considered a light weapon? Like a pirate or a highwayman using a sword and a pistol as a two weapon fighting style.
Nothing's stopping you from house-ruling it to be light, but note that it's noticeably more effective than any other light weapon, at 1d10 vs. 1d4-6, so it immediately becomes the premier ranged light weapon, and only its lack of nick is likely to give any of the others any oxygen,
If a fighter gets 4 attacks every 6 seconds with a firearm, you should be fighting trench warfare style. Not sword and sorcery style. It just completely breaks my suspension of disbelief.

No. Homebrew whatever you want, but weapon masteries and properties are, for the most part, designed to maintain a balance. The light property gives an bonus action attack, and pistol is already a hard hitting ranged attack

Narratively speaking, Id say anyone seriously using a sword and pistol together were using single shot muskets. 3 shots a minute.

ModeratorWeapons list the properties they have. If it the Light property isn’t in that list, then it’s not a property that weapon has.

Hadn’t thought about the damage to be honest. Thanks.
Everyone has different styles. We are playing a different style than you. Enjoy how you enjoy and we will do the same.
