I have no idea where to post this so yeah. I’m a new player and I don’t have a group but that’s not my question, my question is what class to pick. I’m debating between either an eldritch knight, light cleric, tempest cleric, or war cleric. So I just want to know which would be the most new player “friendly” class
Tempest Cleric just jump into the spells and get shocky. It will encourage you to fully understand how to use Spells. I find it the most combat fun of the options.
That is kind of what I was thinking however I wanted to be able to do something with fire spells as well. it seems like the the only fire spells base clerics get are sacred flame(even though its not really fire), continual flame, and much later they get flame strike and firestorm at least in the PHB
Don't worry about it, focus on fun first. Fire Spells are mostly high level anyway. It's a waste to sacrifice levels just to get both Tempest play and Fire Spells. Tempest play is pretty fun. Light Domain works, but isn't as fun.
Is there a reason that you want to come up with a character before you have a game? I know that I rarely, if ever, allow pre-made characters into my games as they don't always fit the setting well and I like the characters to be, or be able to be, connected somehow.

I'm not a big fan of eldritch knights. When it comes to magic swordsmen, there are so many better ways to do it (paladin, ranger, hexblade warlock, bladesinger wizard, forge or war domain clerics, literally any spellcaster class with 2 level multiclass into fighter or paladin) (all my opinion).
Tempest clerics are strictly better than war clerics, gaining the same bonus proficiencies, a bonus damage feature that deals more damage than war's version until level 14 and is better action economy, and a channel divinity you are more likely to use.
Light domain has great domain spells (especially with the elemental affinity feat), and a decent support channel divinity, the bonus cantrip isn't bad, unfortunately potent cantrip at level 8 doesn't help much since the cleric only has save damage cantrips (and none fire).
Based on the options you were considering, it looks like you were leaning toward spell and weapon builds and out of your options, the tempest cleric is the best for that. I recommend muticlassing 2 levels paladin for smites, fighting style, and more prepared spells (my opinion, I like small second class dips).
