if two people used searing smite on 1 target would it then take 2d6 instead of 1d6? or would one override the other idk if DOTs stack like that in dnd im newer
In general, you can't be affected by two things with the same name at once. The extra damage on the hit would apply on each attack, but the extra damage over time would only apply to one attack.

I would rule it that someone can't be set on fire twice. And I would let the second smiter change their mind and use a different smite because their character would know that.
