Never thought about this one until my fellow players and I raided and plundered an entire weapons store and wondered what was in there. Does anyone have an idea of what the total gp value of everything in a weapons store (includes ammo, weapons, armour, gp behind counter) would be?
Don't forget to take into account that it may be difficult to sell in bulk without any prior mercantile experience.
Chances are likely you'll get much less than you expect for the lot of it, or will have questions asked of where you got all of the pristine items from. You could sell small pieces here and there, but (at least in a game where I'm DMing), if players tried to sell 50 weapons at a single stop, they'll get pennies on the dollar and questions might be asked.
Most shops are stocked already, chances are they don't need a huge influx of random equipment, and will only pick it up if they can get it very cheap (Especially if there's risk attached).
Also keep in mind that a lot of smiths put a maker's mark on their work, so if you tried to sell off a bunch of stuff to a person who recognizes the mark, you may be outed for thieves quicker than you'd hope.

That would depend entirely on the size of the weapon store, what weapons it carries and how much those weapons sell for in that region

A lot? It is worth the total of whatever weapons and armor are in there.
My robbery advice is going for daggers and crossbow, hand to get most value for least weight.
Well the party have got a cart so they could stockpile it full of stuff
I would stock a "Weapon Store" thusly:
Grand total of goods and coins: 500gp
Expected value if sold: 225gp + 50gp
Thanks for the detail! :D
