As a long-term Master Tier subscriber I feel a little let down by the dndbeyond team. For double the price of Hero Tier I now only receive the 5-campaign sharing option above what I would receive as a Hero Tier subscriber. In all honesty, this doesn't feel like a great deal, particularly that campaign sharing is a feature enjoyed by my players rather than myself as a DM. Don't get me wrong, I think it is wonderful that more features are opened up to more players of D&D and I support the decision for dndbeyond to do so with the Encounter Builder and Combat Tracker. Imagine a dndbeyond world though, where additional features are offered to Master Tier subscribers at the same time as the existing features enjoyed by them are offered to lower tiers (for example, unlimited campaign sharing, a usable DM screen, campaign chat feature player-player-DM, or even a VTT platform?).
This is not a rant. I want to continue supporting this excellent platform at the highest tier, I simply need a reason to do so and I don't think 5-campaign sharing is a good enough reason.
I would also support (and pay extra for) a tier above Master Tier if it offered above and beyond (pun intended) the options of a Hero and Master Tier (which are not very different at the moment).

I know some players seem to have this expectation that it's part of being the DM to offer content sharing and having a lot of content to share as well. That's not something I agree with. Everyone can take care of the content they absolutely want, and if a Master Tier subscription is needed for content sharing the group can cover that with everyone chipping in what comes down to the price of a cup of coffee. It's great if a DM has already taken care of this and the players can enjoy the benefits, but it shouldn't be expected to be part of a DM's responsibilities.

I agree with Pangurjan on it being an awesome value if you have a core group you frequently play with. In our group, I have purchased a fair bit of stuff, including the Master tier, while others have bought books, subclasses, feats and more. When I content share, we ALL benefit from the opened content and we have a huge variety of things to use. If you are being expected to not only provide the sharing feature but also all the content the group wants, then it would certainly be overwhelming and get expensive quick.
I'd have a discussion with the group and suggest they start taking on some cost, since everyone involved benefits from every purchase. The subscription tiers and how they work seem to be a lot less of an issue here than one person being on the hook to provide it all.

Talk to your Players.Talk to your DM. If more people used this advice, there would be 24.74% fewer threads on Tactics, Rules and DM discussions.
Maybe I'm misunderstanding. Hero Tier can't share official content. Only master tier.
When we talk about value? For 3 dollars a month, you get public homebrew access, unlimited characters, etc. For 6 dollars a month, you get the ability to take the content you and everyone else in your group owns and collab into one giant horde of it. The value proposition for most people is the 3 dollar tier. Less than 3 items on a dollar menu at your fast food place of choice. Master Tier is still less than a main numbered selection.
Unlimtied Content sharing is a pipe dream and will never happen. It's just asking for piracy. The other features you're asking for, if they get released, typically get released to hero tier and above. Master Tier really is just about content sharing. If you don't want to share your content or PAY for the ability to share your content, then go down to hero tier. Being able to share content with SIXTY people for a 3 dollar increase is value.
Honestly, I personally don't feel that the monthly subscriptions are worth it. Each tier, on a yearly basis, is about the same cost as a book. If they want my money, they'd have to offer access (tied to the subscriptions) to PHB and then say an adventure book of my choice that I could change on say a monthly basis or something. I'd also like the monthly freebies to be a persistent reward, although that's notnas essential. Obviously, it's upto them, but that's what I'd want in order to genuinely consider subbing.
It's probably worth it if a group decides to pay for a Master Tier for the DM and then the adventure book and PHB etc. That'd run at about $20pp for the first campaign, then be cheaper after. That might be worth it, since they'll all get access plus it can be a nice gift for the DM for putting the extra effort in to run it.
However, since I'm not in that situation, it's just not worth it. Whether it's worth it to DDB to give those perks I mentioned earlier in order encourage my (and others') subs is for DDB and WotC to decide.
