I'm an illustrator who wants to start supplying art for peoples campaigns. I've been drawing people's characters but I would like to start supplying more than just character art. Any suggestions as to what I could draw for people to make their campaigns better? Maps? creatures? Weapons?
Honestly, I think maps would probably be one of the best things to do. Most monsters already have artwork, unless you're doing homebrew monsters. Same goes for weapons.
My personal frustration is good city/town maps. Yes I can get some automatically generated maps that have a grid, walls, rivers and the like. But I want something that looks like a well drawn map, not a something from a computer.
Otherwise, headshots or busts of NPCs, followed by actual dungeon maps. Large scale area maps are last, because there are a lot of really good tools for those.
I like using backdrops. So, pictures of cities, towns, villages. Panoramas of nature and natural environment, dark, oppressive horror backdrops for places like the Underdark. I will admit, though, that I cheat and looks for images on Google.

That kind of thing is the kind of stuff I use as backdrops for my games.
In terms of maps and things, I use standard battle grids that I can draw on, so there isn't any art there. However, using backdrops and descriptions, I let my players conjure up their imaginations about how the world looks and feels. Players are like Goblins - you don't convince them of anything, you make suggestions and let their imaginations fill in the blanks and artistic background, like the one above are excellent for doing just that.

A caffeinated nerd who has played TTRPGs or a number of years and is very much a fantasy adventure geek.
I would actually agree with SocialFoxes. A backdrop would allow players to basically paint their own picture of what they're seeing by laying a foundation. Our DM builds maps with a large grid map he made and sharpies, and that works really well despite being made of circles and lines. Backdrops would be a nice addition to set the stage of your adventure.

Areas/buildings, important/recurring NPCs/monsters, events (battle, conversation, etc), maps if you are up for it.
You might work with the DM (if you arent them) to be accurate to their description.
