That you cannot exchange gold for magic. Furthermore, that all magic items are unique - except, perhaps, your lowly weapon or armor +1. My games has a system of brokers, who will negotiate a price between players and NPC's with items to sell. That may sound like you're paying gold for magic - but really, the broker is a quest giver you have to pay.

When making a character that starts multiclassed, you have to treat whichever class you have the highest level in as the class you started as (player's choice if there's a tie). Helps check some of those gimmicky 1 level dips people take on such builds to grab things like heavy armor or getting two extra skill profs instead of one.
