I'm creating a L3 Rogue to Arcane Trickster and one of my options is to take a level of Warlock/Sorcerer/Wizard. If I do this, I end up with cantrips I don't want.
What I'd rather do is take two cantrips instead of two 1st level spells.
Even if the DM says Okay, can I mod my character sheet to reflect this?
Arcane tricksters get 2 wizard cantrips and mage hand as well as 3 level 1 spells. Is the problem that you want 2 more cantrips than this, but going Wizard or sorcerer gets you more than 2 (warlock only gets 2, so that should be ok, right)?
Either way, I discourage changing the cantrip number of classes, it messes with the balance. If you want more (less?), you will have to take a feat or multiclass.
yeah, i think your post doesn't make sense. "...I end up with cantrips I don't want" doesn't really line up with "What I'd rather do is take two cantrips instead of two 1st level spells."
But yes, on the site, you can always create a homebrew spell, make it whatever level you're looking for and give it the features of whatever other spell you want. (but you should still probably float it by your DM)
Other options are either save the pdf and open it with an editor and just type in whatever you want....or print out the sheet and get out an old-fashioned pencil.
It is possible because this is just a game, but cantrips are specialized spells that you know by heart. Having too many messes with balance because theyre free and scale with level. If you really wanna do this, talk to your dm. Personally I wouldn't allow it in my campaign.
Is it possible to change my character sheet to have cantrips instead of spells?
So you want 6 cantrips at level 3? I wouldn't allow it, but if your DM is okay with it, you would need to homebrew the class to remove spellcasting and add extra cantrips. It isn't hard, but might be a bit tricky for a first homebrew attempt
The easy option is to not select the spells and make a homebrew feat that gives you the cantrips, instead.

Can you try to explain again what the problem is?

Okay, I just re-read it and you're right...
As an Arcane Trickster, I get three L1 spells.
I'd rather have cantrips instead of spells.
Is it possible to change my character sheet to have cantrips instead of spells?
other option is to just write in the notes you have the cantrips and don't select anything for spells...they're cantrips so unlimited use.
