Grasping Arrow with Infestation spell metamagic-ed bonus attack
Since it seems like the target is running from the cloud, If caught in the grasping arrows brambles would the movement caused by the infestation spell inflict the slashing damage?
When this arrow strikes its target , conjuration magic creates grasping, poisonous brambles, which wrap around the target. T he creature hit by the arrow takes an extra 2d6 poison damage, its speed is reduced by 10 feet, and it takes 2d6 slashing damage the first time on each turn it moves 1 foot or more without teleporting. The target or any creature that can reach it can use its action to remove the brambles with a successful Strength (Athletics) c heck against your Ar-cane Shot save D C. Otherwise, the brambles last for 1 minute or until you use this option again. The poison damage and slashing damage both in-crease to 4d6 ~hen you reach 18th level in this class.
You cause a cloud of mites, fleas, and other parasites to appear momentarily on one creature you can see within range. The target must succeed on a Constitution saving throw, or it takes ld6 poison damage and moves 5 feet in a random direction if it can move and its speed is at least 5 feet. Roll a d4 for the direction: 1, north; 2, south; 3, east; or 4, west. This movement doesn't provoke opportunity attacks, and if the direction rolled is blocked, the target doesn't move.
The spell's damage increases by ld6 when you reach 5th level (2d6), 11th level (3d6), and 17th level (4d6).
Rule As Written, yep, infest will trigger the brambles damage, as will any knock such as from thunderwave or the shove action. I don't think this was the Rule As Intended by the devs when they came up with it though.
Generally, triggering damage is a consequence of willful action. In my campaigns, it wouldn't work. Some DMs might allow it though.

As a DM, I'd probably rule RAI over RAW.
