So we got ahold of a Bag of Beans at lvl 3 and spawned the Pyramid...
I mean, I think we got a shot at it. I’m a sorcerer and I’m pretty sure it’s vulnerable to fire. I might live and the others won’t but what’s the odds we win?
Well, on the plus side you're not obligated to fight the mummy. It's an intelligent and lawful creature, so you might be able to bargain with it.
Buuuuut there's one detail about Mummy Lords that you're uniquely qualified for with your fire magic... The mummy lord's body can only be temporarily destroyed. It's real weak point is its heart. If you can find the heart, the Mummy Lord can be destroyed even by a low level group like yours. But it's not gonna be easy.
Very true, but my companions are playing their characters very true to what they made and they have to fight it. Didnt think to bargain with it though...as a high charisma overall party that’s an idea too. Ya I feel like we at least have a shot against it. I’m willing to bet someone dies but it’s worth a shot if we do fight it.
If you attack it as 3rd level characters? You're toast. You do not have a shot against it unless your GM is really softballing, and multiple party members will die. Let me give you a hint: it's an 11th level spellcaster and it has a melee attack that can potentially kill a 3rd level PC outright.

Find your own truth, choose your enemies carefully, and never deal with a dragon.
"Canon" is what's factual to D&D lore. "Cannon" is what you're going to be shot with if you keep getting the word wrong.
Well it’s more of a, I can hit it from 3x it’s maximum possible movement and damage range. So as long as I keep far out of range I think it’ll be fine. Really may party just doesn’t have to do anything but sit back and watch. It has 1 spell that is past 60ft range and none of its abilities are anything more than 60ft I believe.

As you are already metagaming hard here, you seemingly underestimate the Mummy Lords powers. I see 2 heavy hitting spells with larger ranges, as well as a specific movement power, that will get you.
If level 3 characters engage a Mummy Lord, one or more will die. An as a DM, I would show no mercy. Just saying.
Come back with a contract, especially if you have a forgery kit with you, and make a deal with the Mummy Lord to become its warlock. If you make a fair deal, the Mummy Lord won't have any reason to kill your party, but then you will have to multi-class Warlock of the Undying.
