So I've started running a campaign and so far things are pretty simple. Hero's meet in a town under attack, they're going though saving villagers and warding off these raiders. (Its based from the first chapter from Hord of the Dragon queen.)
At the end of the night however instead of the raiders leaving the town and all that, they find out they where there trying to weed out an evil necromancer who was posing as the governor Nighthill. Who was using this time to devise a scheme to free his two comrades from their banishment to the fea wild, and shadow fell.
Since he has been cut short on time, the necromancer goes forth with his plans early and in an attempt to free his allies he pulls not just them but the fea wild into the material plane as well.
I've got some notes and I've got plans for them to do survival checks as they try and escape the town but I just wish I knew more about the Fea Wilds and what kind of chaos they'll have yo get through. (Its a bigger party and I'm confident they'll all survive because I've started them at a higher level.) Later down the line since the necromancer has used the distraction as his own chance to escape he'll be trying to perform the same ritual and open shadowfell to free his other allie. I feel like I have a better idea of how the shadow fell experience will run, but if anyone has tips on anything it would be more then appreciated. I want to make it interesting and interactive for the party and I've always wanted to play around with the fea wild.
