Need some help from the family trying to make caustic from apex Legends rite now it's a ideal the only thing I got is the reason he studying and using poisons is to defeat ancient twin beholders and find why they wiped out his clan.
So in terms of replicating abilities, try out Circle of Spores Druid. It kinda fits Caustic's Nox gas abilities. You could also pick up Fog Cloud for added effect. In terms of race/species, any could really work, though you could go Green Dragonborn for a poison Breath Weapon kind of like the finisher on his Mythic skin.
Take the Poisoner feat. If you are allowed a free feat at level 1 or are thinking of going Variant Human, use it for this. If not, take it at level 4. This feat will do a lot for a poison-focused build: ignore resistance to poison, enable BA poison application, and allow a cheap method of making venom — which, with the materials, you can make once per long rest thanks to the hour of time allowed by them. (Note: the Circle of Spores’ features deal necrotic, not poison damage. With a little negotiation, this can be changed, but it falls to your DM.)
Take the poison spray spell, and eventually cloudkill. You may also want to homebrew a level 1 druid spell that deals poison damage, or just ask the DM for ray of sickness since it isn’t already on the Druid spell list.
Consider hill dwarf for species: poison resistance, +1 WIS, +2 CON, +1 HP/level, darkvision, and proficiency with Caustic’s Heirloom weapon: a warhammer.
Finally, ensure that you want to play your character’s story and personality for the duration of the campaign (ignoring for now character development). It is extremely important that you determine whether you’re good with the character’s story or not — if you aren’t sure whether the idea of playing as Caustic (or your adaptation) is just a flash of inspiration or a lasting, compelling desire, try to figure that out. If it turns out to be the former, realize that this happens all the time and brainstorm a new character that you’re excited to play in the timespace of the campaign — perhaps even taking pieces of the old character with you.

I second the Circle of Spores as above.
