In my homebrewed world there is a small civilization of Minotaurs which use these large armored gauntlets as weapons, and they are earned through trial by combat. One of my party members, a Loxodon, would be able to participate in said trail to earn the respect of the tribe and the gauntlets. The one issue is the restraints of weapon choices on DnDBeyond, there is no gauntlet or similar weapon type to what I would like. If the gauntlets weren't meant to be used entirely as a weapon and not a piece of equipment, I would make it a Wondrous Item but it would be much simpler if I could just make them as a Magic Weapon. Any suggestions as to how I could do so?
What damage, etc do you want them to do? If the intent is to use them as a weapon then you can adjust damage type and other properties of existing weapons to potentially get what you’re after.
Likely bludgeoning, I haven't figured out everything they'll do but the main thing I was interested in was essentially giving a player the Relentless Juggernaut's Fist attack in which it hits a target and forces a Strength saving throw, otherwise it'll be knocked prone. Most likely I'll have it be able to be done a number of times equal to your proficiency modifier.
So, unfortunately the save thing wouldn’t be able to track via proficiency and would instead need to be done via charges. You can manually update the charges in the background though as the party level.
Depending on the damage die then a mace (d6) would simplify the damage type, and modifying a Mace of Terror would give you an example of the save DC thing too if you needed it.

Build them using Insignia of Claws as your base.

Please take a look at my homebrewed Spells, Magic Items, and Subclasses. Any feedback appreciated.
