Hi. I run a campaign and one of my players, an abjuration wizard, has decided that he wants to create a spell.
We are thinking about the idea but being quite new creating homebrew, I need your help.
First, a little introduction. In our campaign the players have been separated for 5 years. This specific character went to study with an archmage. An NPC from our campaign that is a divination wizard.
My player decided that he wanted to cast a spell based on his studies with the archmage he thought of creating something similar to the Portent dices of the school of divination but in a more limited way.
Currently what we have thought is:
“When you and a creature that you can see in range make a saving throw or an ability check, as a reaction you can change that creature's result to be the same as yours. ”
We would need help to fine-tune the concept and know what spell level would correspond to it.

oh sorry, english is not my mother tongue and i thought it would make sense. I meant that I would change the result of the creature's roll for the result that the caster has had.
Example: a dex saving throw that the caster and creature make. The result of the creature's roll will be replaced by the one that the caster have.
How about: When a creature within range makes an ability check or saving throw, roll a d20. The other creature must use your result. You can choose to roll this before or after you know the creature's result.
No, my idea is to replace the value of the creature roll with the one you roll.
Doing the same saving throw you and an ally. The ally rolls a 7 and you a 17. The spell will replace the 7 for a 17.
Or maybe you and an enemy are place in the same seastorm and you have to avoid the tides to stay in the ship, and you fail with a 3 and the enemy make the saving throw with a 21. The spell will replace the 21 for a 3.

But your idea is basically just giving them advantage or disadvantage.
