Hi, we are playing in a campaign where we plan to go to lvl 35, currently at 27. Following some Epic Characters pdf we get extra spell slots and i found no way to add them to our characters. We need extra 6,7,8,9 spell slots. How should i do this?
You can't, at least not in the sense of adding "proper" spell slots.
However, you could use limited use actions to simulate having additional slots, i.e- when you spend your last slot of that type, you untick it and tick off the limited use instead so you still have "one more". I did basically this to implement some of the Epic Boons from the Dungeon Master's Guide a while back, as we still sadly don't have those (can't share them though as they're official content), but one of these is an extra 9th-level slot (Boon of High Magic iirc?), and another (Boon of Recall?) is to reuse one of any slot.
Basically you'd make a feat and add an action to it, probably would need to be one for each level you want an extra slot for, make sure to give them a reset type of long rest and then once you saved them edit them again as they'll now have a Limited Use section where you can add a single use to get the box to appear on the character sheet properly.
It's not ideal but it at least gives you a way to track which "extra" slots you've used, especially if your adventuring days don't often span a single session.
Former D&D Beyond Customer of six years: With the axing of piecemeal purchasing, lack of meaningful development, and toxic moderation the site isn't worth paying for anymore. I remain a free user only until my groups are done migrating from DDB, and if necessary D&D, after which I'm done. There are better systems owned by better companies out there.
I have unsubscribed from all topics and will not reply to messages. My homebrew is now 100% unsupported.
