Design Goal: I wanted an item that added some flexibility to the damage types caused by beast companions, but also added some damage scaling. Design Notes: I liked the flavor of an item that was attuned by the beast themselves and not the Ranger. Equipment specifically for the Beast Companion is a design space I personally haven't seen touched much. Pain Point:Currently the largest pain point I can see is it is simply too easy to get Force damage out of the Crown. I wanted to create an out for multi-colored or off-color gems, however.
I'd appreciate any feedback, discussions or commentary on this item. Critiques are encouraged but I find it useful to remind myself "what is the designer trying to accomplish" when critiquing. Thanks!

The item is the Crown of the Untamed King.
