hi, i need help making a homebrew warlock patron for 5e, so one of my players wanted to do warlock but the type of contract they made is (in this case forced) one in wich his arm was replaced whit this scarlet sort of energy arm. The arm is really a probe made by an alien species that uses it to collect information of our world so what the arm asks of the warlock is to gain knowledge about the world and other creatures (by not so nice means)
what it needs to do:
- the arm can modify weapons to make them stronger (any non-magical weapon)
- he can pay hit points to streghten his attacks
- he can absorb hit points from creatures and perhaps gain a buff from them (if strong enough)
what i need help with is the expanded spell list and the numbers since im bad at that, if there is a warlock patron that does this or most of it please let me know and leave any suggestions you may have, i appreaciate all the help i get thanks a lot ❤
Expanded Spell list 1st - Comprehend Languages, Inflict Wounds 2nd - Detect Thoughts, Suggestion 3rd - Vampiric Touch, Fear 4th - Blight, Compulsion 5th - Scry, Bigby's Hand
Eldritch Arm 1st level feature You have gained the use of a magical arm made pure energy. Any one-handed weapon held with this arm deals force damage instead of its regular damage type, and you can use your Charisma for attack and damage rolls instead of Strength or Dexterity.
Blood Sacrifice 6th level feature When you hit a creature with a weapon or spell attack you can sacrifice your own vitality to empower your strike. You can expend a number of hit dice up to your proficiency bonus and add them to the damage of the attack. You can only deal this damage once per round.
Drain Life 10th level feature You reach out and touch a creature with your eldritch arm to absorb the life from it. As an action make a melee spell attack against one creature within reach, on a hit you deal 8d8 necrotic damage to it and gain temporary hit points equal to half the damage dealt. This temporary hit points last until you finish a short rest. While you have these temporary hit points you have advantage on attack rolls. Once you use this feature you cannot use it again until you have completed a short rest.
Alien Mind 14th level feature When you are reduced to 0 hit points, the alien mind residing in your Eldritch Mind can take over your body and keep you in the fight. You immediately spend all your available hit dice and regain hit points equal to their total. You also become charmed by the eldritch arm. While charmed in this way you treat all creatures as enemies and gain a +5 bonus to all damage rolls you make. Whenever you regain hit points you can make a Wisdom saving throw against your own spell DC to end this charm.
You cannot use this ability if you have no hit dice available.
When you attack whit a one-hande weapon held whit the arm instead of regular damage type you deal forece damage and use {{abilityscore:cha}} for attack and damage rolls

It probably needs another small feature at level 1 - maybe give them Chill Touch for free. Or maybe give them Expertise in Arcana and/or History.
how about the ability to speak the language of the alien species but them not knowing until hearing it (like a sleeper agent)
