As mentioned in the title, I'm trying to create a new armor. Given DnD Beyond's lack of creating brand new Adventuring Gear, I based it off of the Leather Armor set.
What I'm trying to do is create an armor that improves it's armor class off of the wearer's Proficiency bonus rather than utilizing typical armor methods. I've been fiddling around in the settings for several hours, with no sign of it working whenever I've tried character testing it.
The idea is to make the armor AC 10 + Dex modifier + Proficiency bonus. Works on paper. Doesn't seem to work on DnD Beyond.
And so far, I'm not having any luck breaking it down. I've tried setting the Minimum base armor. I've tried adding bonus armor and setting base armor. The Proficiency bonus addition is not only not working, but minimum armor isn't working either. It's almost like stuff that should intuitively work, just doesn't, and it's both annoying and discouraging trying to figure it out when I don't understand the nuances of how DnD Beyond squished all these supposed-to-be-functional options into a not-working-as-advertised mess.
