Hello, i was going through the armor section for equipment and though just how little and boring it was and decided to make a new system for more customization and personalization, is there anyone here would be able to take a look at the section below and help me point out some improvements and weaknesses. Kite in addion to the normal AC bonus, the wealder also gains the effect of half cover that can not be bypassed by other creates features (feats, spells, attacks ect.) but the wealder has disadvantage on all Dexterity checks while holding the sheild.
Arm-sheild As a reaction when the wealder is hit, they can add half of their Dec mod to their AC
Edged Heater As a bonus action the user can attack with the sheild using their Str mod, it counts as a martial weapon and proficency with sheild applys to the attack rolls, dealing 1d4 + Str on a hit. ___________________________________________________________________________________-
Combining multiple types of armour
When combining armour peices of multiple types of armour (meduim and light ect.) calculte the AC from the armour and the weight of the armour that the armour mostly consists of deturmans Dex bonus ( +1 from meduim and +2 from light, add full Dex mod. with +3 from meduim and +2 from heavy, add Dex mod with max of +2 ). Note that a combonation of light and heavy armour does not add any dex modifer due to the weight and bulk of the heavy armour.

Tried something like it and nobody liked it. Too complex. No real benefits to it.
sometimes the benefit for a role-player is just the ability to flesh out their character's equipment.
If your players like it then definitely go for it. It does look very clunky and more like inventory management than DND, though.
