So, one house rule that I have always used is this:
Players of wizards need to let me know what spells they have memorized after each long rest. Players of Clerics do not.
My reasoning is this: while the Wizard taps into the arcane energy to create their spell effects, a cleric is basically praying to their deity for a specific effect. I've always viewed the spell levels of a cleric to indicate basically how many times they can pray to have something and have their deity's divine power flow through them (note, this is not the same as the Channel Divinity feats of various domains).
Anyway, just wanted to share.
