So before I start with this subclass I want to give credit to a Pinterest post of the dragoon as it gave me inspiration for my own twist on this. Unfortunately my phone isn't allowing me to put a link to the post but please check it out as well.
Dragoon fighter
The dragoon fighter has been harnessing their prowess with halberds, spears and lances alike. The dragoon are known for their great leap ability which is said in legend to cover great distances and even imbue themselves with Dragon like powers.
Level 3 leap - you gain the ability to enhance your jump both forward and straight up. This does not count towards your total movement but uses a bonus action. At the point of impact you can use your attack action to increase the damage of the first hit (see below), Your following attacks act as normal. You can use this ability equal to your strength modifier. The ability recharges after a short or long rest. The following effects apply when you use this ability.
1. Forward leap- leaping forward towards your target you leap 5ft into the air and lunge forward. From a standing position it is 2x your normal jump, from a running start (10ft) It is 4x your normal jump.
2. Straight up leap- from standing 4x normal jump, from a running start only 2x. Jumping straight up to attack an enemy you can do so if they are 5ft within you. Note this does provoke attack of opportunity from enemies around you.
3. When hitting from an enemy from a leap you add 1d4. At level 7 increases to 1d6. At level 10 1d8. At level 15 1d10. At level 18 1d12
Level 7 improved leap- your leap is imbued with Dragon energy as you focus your training to enhance your leap ability. Choose from below which colour Dragon you will be enhancing in your abilities. You can choose whether or mot to activate the ability. If the ability requires a save the dc equals 8+proficiency bonus+ strength modifier.
Red/gold- at the point of jump or at landing you deal fire damage in a 5ft radius around you. The fire damage equals your proficiency bonus.
White/silver- at the point of the jump or at landing you cover the ground in ice in a 10ft radius making it difficult terrain. For those who start their turn or enters the space must make a dex save or fall prone. On a success there is no effect.
Blue/bronze- at point of jump or at landing you make the area around you get blasted with lightning. Each creature in a 5ft radius makes a dex save against your dc. On a fail the target can't take any reactions until the start of your next turn.
Black/copper- at the point of jump or at landing you can either attack a single target forcing them to make a con save. On a fail the targets ac drops by 2. You can choose to do a cone effect of 15ft instead of the single attack and all enemies within that cone make a con save. On a fail each target looses 1 ac permanently. On a success save there is no effect. This ability cannot stack upon itself on any enemy.
Level 10 leap and awe- when you land from the leap attack enemies in a 5ft radius around you have disadvantage on attack rolls made against you until the start of your next turn.
Level 10 dargonic legacy- you add your proficiency bonus to any history or nature check that is linked with dragons. If your already proficient in these abilities then you can add your proficiency bonus again.
