Working on a homebrew dragon inspired by the stars. Thinking about adding an effect to the breath weapon. Standard damage (cold damage because hydrogen in concentrated form can be cold). The added effect is that a creature failing their CON save against the initial blast of the weapon has to continue to make a save on its turns for 1 minute. 3 failures inflicts frostbite and thus gives disadvantage on attack rolls. If they get 3 successes before the failures they do not get the frostbite.
Not sure if I want to keep this, keep it but make it a second breath weapon, or eliminate it.
Regional effect I'm debating is that the air around the lair (5 mi.) is heavily radiated so you start to burn and then get poisoned after a certain amount of time within the radius unless you have immunity to fire damage. Resistance to fire damage prolongs the amount of time you can spend in the radius without suffering ill effects. The other regional effects I came up with I am happy with.
