I'm thinking about the alignment system in DnD. I think this system has already been critized a lot and can be hard to understand/follow. I thought a bit about it and I wanted to try to setup a more precize system. My idea is to organize the alignment arround a set of values (16 like the 16 plans). Each value has it's opposite counterpart. Each value is associated with good, evil, law, chaos or a mix of it. A character will have his alignment given by how he acts according to these values.
Here is a chart with all the values and their respective alignment and counterparts :
Do you think this is correct ? Have you some proposal to improve it ?

Y'know, there's a button for that, under Tools in the top right.

Look at what you've done. You spoiled it. You have nobody to blame but yourself. Go sit and think about your actions.
Don't be mean. Rudeness is a vicious cycle, and it has to stop somewhere. Exceptions for things that are funny. Go to the current Competition of the Finest 'Brews! It's a cool place where cool people make cool things.

It never seems to work for me. I keep trying, though -- it would help me to keep my big mouth shut ;)

I think you have overly negativized Lawful and overly positivized Good and Chaos.
Maybe because I'm a bit chaotic ahah ! I guess it's more about "dogmatism" and "intransigence". Maybe there are synonyms that could work better ? For me lawful-neutral is some kind of evil, like harmonium in planescape. As neutral-chaotic. But for good, it's supposed to be positive no ?

That depends on whether you lean more towards the Moorcock derivation or th Zelazny Derivation, I suppose, lol.
historically, another way to look at it was Good = Benevolence and Evil = Malevolence. THe planar structures of the game support it more towards that way right now, with good being about (super simply) kindness and compassion, evil being about cruelty and selfishness.
However, a LOT of people don't always go there.
Law would Order -- that is, structure, purpose, collective will, conformity, interdependence. Chaos would the precise opposite of that -- so anarchy, individual will, purposelessness, independence.
Again, super simply, and strictly going off the current planar structure.

Hello everyone,

EDIT:
That wasn't totally fair of me.
First, let me say that for your game, I will totally back you on however you choose to make your alignment system work.
I think you have overly negativized Lawful and overly positivized Good and Chaos.
But that's me -- and I straight up threw alignment out the window, so I may not be a good judge.
