I’m looking for opinions and people thoughts on the overall balance and mechanics of my take on a Lore Wizard. The flavor and concept I believe are sound, I just want to make sure it’s not over or underpowered.
Starting at 2nd level, you become a compendium of knowledge on a vast array of topics. You gain expertise in Arcana and 1 other skill of your choice, from the Wizard's skill list.
Arcane Composition
Also at the 2nd level, as your studies of the arcane and the nature of magic increase, your ability to learn new spells grows beyond that of other wizards. You gain one additional wizard cantrip. Also, each time you gain a wizard level, you can add additional wizard spell of your choice to your spellbook for free. The spell you gain must be of a level lower than the highest spell level you can cast. It also can’t be lower than 1st level or higher than 6th level.
Scholastic Focus
At the 6th level, your study of the arcane has become so ingrained in you that you ability to regain arcane energy become more effortless. Instead of a short rest, you may spend 1 minute focusing to perform Arcane Recovery.
Prodigious Memory
At 10th level, you have attained a greater mastery of spell preparation. As an action, you can replace one spell you have prepared with another spell from your spellbook.
You can’t use this feature again until you finish a long rest.
Master of Magic
At 14th level, your knowledge of magic allows you to duplicate almost any spell. As a bonus action, you can call to mind the ability to cast one spell of your choice from any class’s spell list. The spell can’t be higher than 6th level, you mustn’t have it prepared, and you follow the normal rules for casting it, including expending a spell slot. If the spell isn’t a wizard spell, it counts as a wizard spell when you cast it. The ability to cast the spell vanishes from your mind when you cast it or when the current turn ends.
You can’t use this feature again until you finish a long rest.
Public Mod Note

Moved from Rules/Mechanics
yes and no. It's only spells not the other possible effects of wish. I have thought about changing it to only be wizard spells, but with the send level ability and the restriction to 6th level and lower it would render it virtually useless. Is that the only problem you see? any suggestions on a fix?
Yeah, still a mini-Wish... It is a no-brainer, take over any/all Wizard schools ability. Extra spell slot for the day to boot.
How about step on Sorcerer's toes a tad, and at 14th level give a once per long rest use of a Metamagic ability, Twinned Spell probably be too much, but maybe Heightened Spell or a choice between Careful, Empowered, or Extended.
When I started out with this subclass I wanted to do something that didn't step on any other class or subclasses toes so ive purposefully steered away from meta magic and adding damage with spell slots/smite like abilities. that what the level 2 cantrip is specifically a wizard cantrip and not any classes cantrip. Its not an extra spell slot for the day, the ability requires all the components and the spell slot for the spell, its not a "free" spell for the day. its just a spell that you don't know, have or normally can't cast because it isnt in your class.
You no longer have a need for spell components or a spell casting focus. When you cast a spell that requires a component with a specific cost, make an ability check using your spellcasting ability. The DC equal to 10 + the spells level. If you fail the check then the spell slot if expended and the spell fails.

So the level 14 ability is like a minor version of Wish.... that seems kind of OP.

this is another ability I mauled over:
