I am a fairly new DM and currently my players are in a siege situation (the capital which is built in tiers around a mountain) is under siege. Through my various google findings, I found there isn’t anything about fortification gates. Now, I plan on having a Goristro attacking the gate. Currently I have the gate’s stats as AC: 20 HP: 150 and damage threshold of 25. Now this gate is as tall as the black gate from lord of the rings and about half as wide as half of that gate. It’s made of wood with metal reinforcements. Are these stats fine or do you think it needs to be adjusted? Also, I have 3 cannons on the wall closest to the gate each sealing 8d10 bludgeoning damage but they take an action to load, action to aim, and action to fire. While that is happening I was planning on having enemy soldiers use siege ladders and if they make it to the top they kill a guard and possibly fight the party. Do you think this is also fine? Any recommendations?
