I'm going to be DMing an Elder Scrolls campaign at a later date and I want to homebrew my own version of every race, translating their abilities from Skyrim over to 5E. When I got to Bretons, who's ability is that they have resistance to all magic, obviously, I had to change that. Way too OP. I was thinking about letting the player choose a single resistance via a drop-down menu, like choosing proficiencies or ability skill improvements, or but I'm not seeing an option under modifiers. Is there a way to do this?
Edit: I figured out a way to give the choice through Options. Is there a way to apply that actual resistance to it that would show up on the character sheet or will the player/DM just need to keep track of it?
i know this was a while ago but you could give them the ability to cast a few spells, specifically absorb elements at 1st, with more spells as they level up, maybe counterspell at 5th level, each being able to be cast once per long rest
