Recently, I've transferred and made plenty of homebrewed things, but i have a problem figuring out how to make it work correctly for a few things.
First. I have this feat, and I cannot figure out how t give double proficiency to a selected artisan tool. when going in Modifier -> twice proficiency the only similar choice I have is dwarven tool, instead of letting the player choose from any tool
Master Artisan
Your Wisdom score increases by 1. You gain proficiency with one set of artisan’s tools, and your proficiency bonus is doubled for any check you make that uses those tools.
Second. I have a magic item, more specifically an arrow, I cannot create a homebrew arrow, as even if I copy an arrow +2 for example, it say no weapon is selected, and in the choice of weapon, I cannot choose an arrow
Third. I'm wondering if the following spell is balanced, compared to expeditious retreat, which is only lvl 1, you get the double speed, but it doesn't use a BA on every subsequent turn, and it also makes the terrain difficult. is it balanced as it? should I bump it to 3rd level? should it require a BA on subsequent turn to have the doubled speed?
You freeze the ground under your feet as you slide forward. Your speed doubles and for the duration any ground you walk over becomes difficult terrain.
Fourth. A Variant bugbear, with the ability to turn into a wolf has a snippet issue, an error message showing {{saclevalue error .. show up, basically, the wolf form is supposed to do 2d4 damage at the beginning, and once you reach lvl 11, it is bumped to 2d6 damage. and i did added the level override in the action, so i rly don't know why the message is still here, especially as in other brew with level over ride and [[saclevalue}} in the snippet i didn't had any trouble.
For reference, this is the exact snippet text in the action :
You can use your action to polymorph into a medium wolf, or back into your true form. Your statistics are the same in each form, except your wolf form’s AC is {{10+modifier:dex}}. Any equipment you are wearing or carrying transforms with you, becoming part of your wolf form. Your corpse transforms back into your true form if you die while in your wolf shape.
While transformed, your sharp teeth become a natural weapon, which you can use to make unarmed strikes. If you hit with your bite you deal {{scalevalue}} piercing damage and if the target is large or smaller you can use your bonus action to force the creature to make a DEX save (DC {{savedc:str}}) or fall prone. You cannot speak or cast spells while transformed.
For the first point, rather than using Twice Proficiency, does Expertise work? I believe Twice Proficiency is meant only in cases like Rock Gnomes "Artificer’s Lore" which is an explicit, no choice scenario, while Expertise gives a choice to the player.
Second point, this is a bug/missing feature, you need to raise with the DnDBeyond team, it's straight up missing from the list where it should be.
Third, I'd be tempted to set a figure for how much your speed increases rather than doubling it and making difficult terrain - possibly if you make it use a bonus action each turn you want to keep using it.
I'll have to get back to you on the fourth query as I don't know off the top of my head
oh yes, for some reason I wasn't thinking of expertise, but that work just fine thanks! for the arrow been a missing feature, it's been a while, I was hoping it has been added, but I do understand with all the content they're already implementing they're busy.
as for the ice skate, maybe a +20ft. per round and it use your BA on subsequent turn if you want to keep on skating as you suggested, this makes it more similar to expeditious retreat and probably more balanced.
This may seem a little silly, but considering the interpretation issues from Longstrider, potentially specify that it's an increase to your walking speed - a flat speed boost can technically be applied to any speed already present (if under the effects of Fly, I presume you don't want Ice Skate to provide a boost to Fly speed?)
yeah, i figured that need some change too, thanks again, with all of that this is ice skate v2:
You freeze the ground under your feet as you slide forward. When you cast this spell, and then as a bonus action on each of your turns until the spell ends, your walking speed increases by 20 feet until the end of that turn and any ground you walk over becomes difficult terrain.
I've found a way around meanwhile, just rewriting it to not use the scalevalue as I was unable to find what exactly was wrong, but thanks for the help with that one!

When you create an item with your Cunning Artisan trait, you can also make the following items: a basket, a jug or pitcher, a net, a spear, clothes, traveler's, or rope (25 feet).

Ice Skate
2nd lvl evocation
Casting time: 1 BA
Duration: Concentration (1 minute)
You freeze the ground under your feet as you slide forward. Your speed doubles and for the duration any ground you walk over becomes difficult terrain.

Looks Great!
With regards to {scalevalue}, it's not an issue with the scale it's looking up is it?
